Week 12 Doll Wish List

Ok so not techinically a project with my current dolls, but I'm wrapped up in some various other hobbies that are in need of my attention so I thought this would just be a nice little easy segment for the time being.

My doll wish list is pretty darn long, because well they just have sooo many fabulous dolls out there, of course thats not to say that I will ever get all these dolls or even a few, but a girl can always dream can't she. Let's get started and break them down into categories.

Anthros:
Well its no wonder I love anthros, because I'm an animal lover and I have to add these fabulous critters on my list...all of which are from Mushroom Peddler . I have several of these wonderful critters and would love to add more, but they are only in a limited run. There are more but these are my favorite.

Tinies:
I'm not all keen on most tinies, as frankly I just don't like little baby-like dolls, though there are a few that eventually I'd like to add to my photostories to continue some story lines for a few of my characters down the road.
Bobobie Moony and Sunny - more than likely I will get them in fantasy colors and possible on a Resinsoul body instead. What I like about these little ones is the webbed mermaid like ears and the horn. I have some mod ideas for these two.
Island Doll Leshy - well he/she is just darn cute..lol..though I think I'd get him/her in blue resin or dye it.

Yo-Sd:
I have a few in this size already but there are still others I'd like to add to the crew.
Plantedoll Aqua - who wouldn't want a mermaid amongst the group...leaning more towards the dark tan, but one of the others would be kinda cool to use for another dye project.
Resinsoul Pixiu - on human body girl..I have one of these dragon bodies with a Resinsoul Lu head but I'm not too fond of him so I'm thinking of getting a girl in a fantasy color possible without all the dragon feet or at the least getting the human body with the fantasy parts as well.
Sugarable - haven't nailed it down to which one but I'm fond of the Juniper sculpt on the glamour body or maybe even Trudy who might make a cute little gnome girl..lol

Almost forgot the lovely discontinued Dollzone Moon, I wasn't aware it was being discontinued so I missed out on this cutie maybe I'll happen upon it on the second hand market.

MSD:
Well now this is the size of most of my large resin family and my main characters of my photostories and you would think I just wouldn't need any more, but doll companies are just creating too many cool dolls. The one I'm holding out for from Resinsoul is a possible MSD sized dragon doll, it was indicated that yes they would be making one but its been quite a while so I'm not certain if it is still in the works, if not I'll just be modifying 2 of my dolls I already have. I'm sure there are quite a few other MSDs that I wouldn't mind having and I'll upload photos soon so stay tuned on this section.

SD:
I really love the SD size and have a few that I wouldn't mind picking up along the way, but some are sold out limited Soom dolls so the likeliness of getting them is slim, but I'm hoping that I may possible at least get some of the cool fantasy parts to hybrid.
Soom Chrom and Breccia
And of course we can't forget these 2 gorgeous Egyptian heads, and really I'd just like the heads since they didn't come with other fantasy parts (ie beastie legs).
Soom Epidia

Dollchateau Christina (really I just like the new body that they produced)

 Iplehouse boys: oh so cute..sigh

Bobobie Charisma Demon head and Resinsoul Dai. There are a few other Resinsoul dolls on my list that I'd eventually like to get as well including Yun and possible Lian and Long.

Giants:
Well now I always looked at some of the really huge 80cm+ dolls and thought creepy..but Dollmore has a limited doll Elysia that is 108cm and she is really pretty and tempting and if I was a millionaire I would consider her, so she probably is the only on my list in this size.

Week 11 Video Fun My Favorites

For Week 11 since I'm strapped for time with other projects I decided to incorporate one of the BJD Addicts Prompts from You tube. Basically BJD Addicts is a doll group on both Facebook and You tube that creates fun prompts for doll owners to do videos of to help others get to know them and their dolls. The BJD Addict Prompt for my weekly project is going to be Prompt #38 10 Favorites. So lets get started with the 10 favorites that were asked in the prompt.

1. Favorite doll in your collection and why?
This is a tough one since I have so many dolls, my solution was to do it by sizes:
Anthro:
Elfdoll Catsy her name is Zymina, the reason I chose her is because I got her as a kinda rememberence of my kitty Zyma who passed away over a year ago. Eventually she will be a calico.

Tiny:
Resinsoul Yu-un named. I only have a few tinies but I think she is the cutest of them so that is why she was chosen.

YoSD:
Saffron is a Resinsoul Bei-She was the first doll that I dyed and I really like how her personality is coming along in my photostories.
Xem my Resinsoul Xi is also one my other favorites just because he is adorable and fun looking. He is sporting some Daisy Daye hooves in this photo.

MSD:
And of course my fav MSD is going to be Kitiblu Resinsoul Mei, my first resin doll and my avatar for my fashion design company MKC Couture formerly Ms. Kitty's Closet. She is also the main character of my photostories.
Shortly following my steampunk Bobobie Ariel Audryme...well because she is just darn cool..lol.

SD:
Keiyoko my Resinsoul Xue is my mini me so of course she is going to be one of my favs...though another girl  is very close by:
My grail Iplehouse girl...because I'm fond of kitty sculpts and her resin color is just beautiful.

2. Favorite Face up Artist?
Well that would have to be my friend who is local artist Arrowchild or Lora Gray. She has done a few face ups on my dolls and has also helped me out improving on doing my own.

3. Favorite Outfit?
I'd have to say Audryme's Steampunk outfit, though I also love the outfit that I did for Zhahara shown in the above photo.

4. Favorite thing about the doll hobby?
Besides the fabulous people that I have met and the wonderful BJD Addicts Prompts. I would say the shear creativity that these dolls inspire. The idea of bringing my characters and fashion illustrations to life is just beyond words.

5. Favorite Doll Company?
um...Resinsoul..lol. I do have a fondness for their sculpts, I like the mature fantasy look about them and that they come in an erray of wonderful colors.

6. Favorite Wig?
Ah I have a few favorites...Keiyoko's blue wig (in above photo), Xem's fun funky wig (also shown above) and the punky, spunky mohawk that I created for Vixenne.

7. Favorite Pose?
This is a strange one and the only answer I can give because I really don't have a favorite per se, would be pretty much what I like photographing and looking at are natural poses, poses that show emotion, show a story, where they look like well you and me. Like they can be a part of our real world.

8. Favorite Resin Color?
For natural skin tones I'd say different shades of dark tan, like resinsouls and Iplehouse Ebony. For fantasy colors sky blue like Kitiblu and green.

9. Favorite Doll Size?
Again I love all my dolls so its hard to say what is my favorite but I am fond of my MSDs for the photostories that I create and then following my SDs because they are fun to create clothing for.

10. Favorite Doll Photo?
Erg...too many to mention. You can view my Facebook page Tyrne'Ar for tons of my doll photos but I'll post this fun one here of Hortense my dyed Bobobie Pixiu/Resinsoul hybrid on a high wire.

So not exactly a project working on my dolls for this week but I still wanted to keep up the weekly posts. To view my video blog of  my BJD Addicts Prompt Response #38 and others look me up on YouTube HERE.

Week 10: Workout Completed: Project Runway Challenge 16

A day over but the challenge for Project Runway "Sweatin to the Oldies" has been completed. The workout outfit that I created is made out of all spandex/knit fabrics. I had a few different ideas but stuck with this design because it reminds me of an 80's style outifit.

Let's checkout the details:

Front View: 8 piece outfit. Jacket, Leggings, under shirt, mesh overshirt, leg warmers, matching headband and a arm band for a Ipod or other such handheld music for a nice job in the morning.

Back View:

Detail 1: Close up of Black Cotton Jersey Jacket with Raglan style sleeves and zipper, Rainbow Striped Cotton Jersey Headband, Armband made of Yellow Cotton Jersey(same fabric as under tank top). The little IPOD like device in the Black Mesh Pocket is a little Barbie prop that I attached a cord to and used a small foam circle for the Earbud.

Detail 2: Close up of Undershirts- A Yellow Ribbed Cotton Tank Top with Black Mesh Off the Shoulder Top. Rainbow Cotton Jersey Leg Warmers to match the Headband. And a workout can't be complete without a Yoga Mat and some Yellow Spandex Resistance Bands.

And Finally the Glamour Shot: Keiyoko is all set to warm up for her appearance in the Richard Simmons Sweatin to the Oldies video. (well not really, but its nice to imagine it)

And there you have the Completion of Week 10. A little late but not to worry I'll still be posting Week 11 this weekend as it will be a very short overview pertaining to Videos of my Doll(s).

Week 10 Project Runway Challenge 16

Yay! Another fun project from doll forum Den of Angels Game 16 challenge is:

CHALLENGE: Sweatin' to the Oldies

Richard Simmons is planning a new line of workout clothes, He’s holding a contest for designers to submit their creations. The winning outfit will be featured in his newest DVD of ‘Sweatin’ to the Oldies’. Get up off that couch and start sweating! Hard abs and tight tush, let’s go!

Outfit must be something that a person would wear to work out or go jogging in. You must make at least one accessory.

Note: Again this is just a fun little challenge and has no monetary gains and is unrelated to the actual "Project Runway" show.

For this challenge my model is going to be Keiyoko, Resinsoul Xue 58cm tall. I chose her for several reasons but mainly because she is my little mini me (Me in doll form) and since I want to start working out/exercising a bit more (hitting the gym this week) I figure well my little mini me should as well.

I'll probably go a traditional workout outfit look but make use of the design by adding different prints and colors together. Mayhap some animal print of some sort and a nice bright (not neon) solid color. Colors I'm thinking of are turquiose, red or pink. I have already started doing some sketches and I have a pretty good idea of what I'm going to make. I'll try and attempt to scan in my designs and upload them here. As for accessories I have a few ideas, though only 1 is neccessary I think a few are in order.

So that is the little update for this weeks challenge (a few days late) stay tuned for the completion coming in a few days. Now off to search through the bins of fabric in my studio.

Week 9-Tightened and Glued

Week 9 is at an end...I did receive my Mirodolls but the strings in them were quite thick and they were not in need of restringing. Mordarak and Dhorian ended up being fine as well, I must have restrung them when I first got in some new elastic a while back. Sooo I chose my Bobobie Apollo and a nameless Impdoll head on Resinsoul body.

Impdoll/Resinsoul Hybrid - Before
Well as you can see by the lovely photo this is what the new double jointed resinsoul body does with the thin string that they come with and no sueding. I had to hold her so she didn't fall over.

And After:
Yay! She can stand! I'm not entirely certain what size string that I used for her possibly either 4mm or 4.5. Still not the best  poseability wise as their MSD sized dolls but this just goes to show that sometimes it just takes a few little adjustments and patience to make any doll more poseable.

Fun little pose just because. There is no way that her legs would have stayed up like this with out the  hot glue sueding. You can also place covered wire, like electrical wire in the channels of the legs or arms and get even more poseability out of a doll.

Bobobie Apollo - Before:

Er...uh oh...No worries he didn't fall like this I gently let him slide into this position when I was trying to get him to do this pose...

After adding thicker elastic and hot glue sueding I was able to get him to stand like this. He is not leaning on the back drop.

And then he went smoothly into this position.....

Sitting/Reaching out to his feet - Before:

He leans forward fine but his arms kept dropping to his side...

When  I attempted to make him reach a little further he just flopped over completely...

After:
Leaning farther forward than in the before photo and his arms are reached out nicely trying to touch his toes.

And one last pose...my boy meditating in the lotus position...I was rather suprised that I could get him in this position. I never cared for the ball joint in his hip sockets, but because of them and the hot glue that I sueded inside the sockets he now looks more natural in his posing.

That is it for Week #9. Next on the agenda is another Project Runway challenge on Den of Angels this one will be a fun one, be sure to view the details in Week 10 that will be starting on Monday.
