CHALLENGE:
The challenge for this game is to create an outfit that is candy themed. You may not use candy patterned fabrics, but you can add candy wrappers, candy logos or real candy to your outfit. Use your imagination and let your love of sweets inspire you! Create a outfit that looks good enough to eat!
Now I was going to use various actual candy pieces and wrappers but I really wanted to reuse the outfit or I should say have an outfit that my doll could re wear. Now on to my inspirations and my model for this challenge.
Model:
Ribbon is my Doll Chateau Alberta (4 legged Moose Girl) in white resin..this photo was taken when I just recieved her, when she didn't have a faceup or proper clothing.
Inspirations:
Well since its eye candy then obviously the first thing that came to my mind was Candy Ravers...and the candies that I decided to concentrate on were Cotton Candy and Ribbon Candy.
Here are just a few photos I found online with some bright colors and more muted bright colors...and of course who can forget the giant lollipop!
Candies!!! Nom Nom Nom. Just a few photos of the candy that inspired me for the outfit that I created.
Finished outfit: Halter top, Shrug, Skirt, 4 set Stockings, 4 set Fluffies, 2 sets Bracelets including Wig and Candy prop.
Front: Back:
This was a great chance to use another centaur BJD for one of the Project Runway challenges, and the really suited my fourlegged White Chocolate Moose..lol.
Details:
Faux Fur boot covers in a Cotton Candy theme, textured stockings that reminded me of Rock Candy. The top part of the skirt is in a similar textured fabric as the pink with a curve pleated skirt to resemble Ribbon Candy.
Pink texture top again to look like Rock Candy, heart in center like a Conversation HeartCandy, shrug to also resemble Cotton Candy and of course a candy raver can't go anywhere with out a huge lollipop which I made out of yarn and candy bracelets from seed beads.
Glamour Shot:
Close up shot: I created the wig out of a nice fluffy yarn with ribbons, and the faceup in the same colors as parts of the outfit, the antlers I wanted to have a ribbon or hard candy look. The blue stones I added as a last detail I thought it gave the faceup a nice complete look and reminded me of Dot Candy.
I'm extremely happy with the overall look...there were some other things I would have liked to have added or accented more, but I'm satisfied with this outcome for this challenge. Now to see how I do, the judging won't take place until June 14th.
