ResinWeekly Update

Well if anyone has been following they have noticed that I'm a little behind on a few weeks. Lots of other random projects, show rehearsals, getting ready for Colassalcon in June and creating custom furry sets. So that has left little time for me to work on my dolls. However I have been working on a custom BJD clothing project for someone on DOA (Den of Angels). The doll is a Mirodoll in a beautiful burnt sugar resin and the owner is wanting a Sari type of outfit. Since I have one of Mirodolls 60cm girls I have the perfect model to custom make the outfit.

What the owner has requested is a long skirt and top with 3/4 sleeves in a solid color as she'll be purchasing the actually Sari scarf herself. My first mock up using the pattern I created turned out really well:

I created the top in a dark purple panne velvet with snaps up the back and a batik print long slightly A-lined skirt. Not bad for the first mock up the skirt is a little tight around the waist only small adjustment needed. My customer loves the top but wanted something solid in the same shade and fuller. So I have some scrap silk that matches perfectly and will be attaching a waistband to have the skirt with snap closure as well.

This is the second mock up that I completed today 5-18-13 in a brown panne velvet and light weight cotton for the skirt. I really like both styles. This one is fuller at the bottom with some very slight gathering at the waistband.  I'll have to await a response from my customer and see how she likes this new one then I'll take an updated photo of the finished outfit.

Finished garment for the custom order:
Tada.....Nice purple Silk and Panne Velvelt skirt and top with snap back closure for easy on and off. I thing it turned out rather well and I hope she  likes it. I'm definitely going to consider using this design when I start doing more BJD clothing for my Etsy shop.

And that completes the catch up/update for Resin Weekly now on to the next which will be the fabulous Project Runway Challenge titled: "Eye Candy".
